Self-Directed Resources

Here are some self-directed interventions when they are appropriate; these resources are not meant to be a substitute for getting professional help

e-Couch

e-Couch is a website with information about mental health and a variety of programs and tool-kits to improve your mood, keep track of your progress and power through any challenges you might be facing.

Self-Directed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Self-Directed Cognitive Therapy is using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques on yourself to help you deal with symptoms of depression or anxiety. It can be used along with other counseling and because you work on the therapy by yourself, it is completely free!

For College Students

The Self Evaluator was developed for ULifeline by Duke University School of Medicine and screens for thirteen of the most common mental health conditions that college students face. This screening does not provide a diagnosis, but identifies problems that could be impacting thoughts, feelings and behaviors. The screening process also provides information on these conditions and how to reach out for help.

Suicide Prevention

The SAMHSA-HRSA Center for Integral Health Solutions is focused on suicide and suicide prevention and is geared towards health, behavioral health, and integrated care leadership, providers, and patients/consumers. The information and resources listed here can be easily adapted to other groups and settings. Suicide, Intimate Partner Violence (IPV), and Trauma are often interrelated.
